Default Library symbol parameters not applying
Murii139 , 10-24-2025, 05:41 PM
I'm reorganizing my libraries and was expanding them.As I currently work with LCSC I want to add a Parameter "LCSC Part #" to any new symbol I create in the library. I went to preferences > Schematic > Defaults > Parameter Set and I added my parameter but it is not applying after I click apply ok then creating a new symbol and it doesn't seem to be committed to permeant memory as after a closing and reopening Altium when I go to preferences again I don't find my default parameter I added. Is that a bug or is that possibly adjusted per project even though I have been working on one project only?I'm on Altium 24.8.2

Those are the parameters for a parameter set in the schematic (Place / Directive / Parameter Set).To my knowledge there is no possibility to add default parameters to a schematic library symbol. You can with A365 in the managed libraries.

That's rather disappointing but I was expecting this outcomeThank you so muchHopefully I can figure out a way to automate this and share it

Create a 'blank' symbol and copy that.

Yeah seems pretty good workaround
