PCB Routing problem

Anik , 03-30-2024, 05:00 PM
Recently I am doing a PCB in Kicad. The layout is here. This is for power connector hub. The rating of the power is given on the screenshot its in Amphere. I can not understand how can I manage for this higer ampere on the PCB. How many layer do I take for handling 20A . Every Trace is separate and the same color tracs baring same ampere.
Please help me about this.
Thank you
Anik

20A per pin? Are those pins rated for that?
5mm wide trace outer layer, 0.2mm above plane, 3oz copper (105um), 30°C temperature rise -> ~20A

It looks like 20A per 3 pin if blue colour means 20A pins. But usually you make polygons for such a high currents.

If it were 20A for the 3 pins combined, the ratsnest would look different. But you are correct that for high currents you often, if not aways, use polygons as the traces would get to wide to allow 'normal' routing.

I have done it. Mybe it willbe ok. The Copper thickness kept 2oz for all layers. And there are all of the 6 layer given in photo.
