find datasheet of the one you would like to use, it will tell you what pins are there and how to connect them

The first one on the left has the pins as the datasheet. The second on the right, has the pins you do not care about, set as NC (Not Connected).As the pins **ARE** connected, that is a big mistake.Whether or not you connect the pins is something else.See datasheet https://www.silabs.com/documents/public/data-sheets/cp2102n-datasheet.pdf page 27

What if, for ease, you connect them all to Gnd?For a true NC (Not Connected) pin, that is no problem. However, here some are outputs and thus will create a shortcircuit.
