Lesson 6 Power -- ESD Protection

For the barrel connector, you have a 22 uF capacitor. However, it is unclear how you picked that size, except that you mentioned a large-value capacitor.

Looking at the eFuse datasheet (https://www.littelfuse.com/media?res...d33--datasheet), we see recommended bulk input/output caps of 10uF each.

We already have 22uF caps in the design, therefore because of BoM consolidation (using as many of the same parts, if possible) and cap derating (will be closer to 10uF with 5V applied bias), we use 22uF as the input cap as well.

Additionally, the eFuse has integrated ESD protection, but the MLCC - to a certain extent - provides some ESD protection as well (see e.g. https://electronics.stackexchange.co...sing-capacitor or https://www.kyocera-avx.com/docs/tec...capacitors.pdf).
