Hello Sir I hope you are fine . I want to ask a question from you . When we talk about mlt std 461 RE102 emc emi testing. Why do we place antenna so close to DUT . Is it near field electric field test ? Because in other standards we place antenna at far field. Why do we take measurements so close 1m? If near field is concerned we could use a near field probes?

Not that I am a mil std expert, but other equipement is placed close the DUT in normal operation. Take a phone placed on top of a laptop. If they are only tested to the standards, either of them could fail when placed on top of each other.For mil I can imagine that they want to see test results that verify this a bit.
