Possible problems in PCB design

Satyaveer Singh Rawat , 05-02-2024, 12:33 PM
Dear All, Please go through the screenshot of the schematic of my project. While validating my project I got two similar warnings. I have used 3 net names (AC_Vol_Neg, AC_GND and DC_Bus2_Vol_Neg) for same net, which is shown as warning. I need all three names for some reason. Will it create some problem in due course? Should I delete two of them and give same name throughout or can I ignore the warnings?

You can not use different names for the same wire, but you can use net ties to connect wires with different names.

Rarely there is a need to have multiple names for the same net. So far, I have only seen one such reason and that is for antenna's (Inverted F) that are connected to Gnd, but you want it to be named antenna.
Like @Kristóf Kanics mentioned, net-ties are needed in that case.
However, unlike he states "You can not use different names for the same wire" you CAN, but Altium picks one of the names and uses that on the PCB. You have no control over the name and it can change every time you validate and update the PCB. You do not want the name "antenna" for all your "Gnd" connections do you?

@QDrives No Sir, I don't want. I have deleted 2 net names for being at safer side.
